Yesterday afternoon while logging in to Treasure Isle for my regular session of harvesting, planting, and digging, I was greeted with a new popup window that told me I had been selected to plant Dragonfruit. When I clicked "okay", the Dragonfruit was automatically planted in my two plots on my home island and I was told to come back in 24 hours to harvest them for a reward of 2 Island Cash each. Today I harvested them and received my four total Island Cash, and resumed planting Coconuts as usual. I decided to check out theofficial Treasure Isle forums to see if everyone got the chance to plant Dragonfruit, and this is what I found.

It's a gold rush in Treasure Isle: New maps are released
Hey Treasure Isle players - the moment you have been waiting for has come. Zynga released the fifth Mayan Isle map, and it's named "Gold Rush". We predicted last time there was a map release that perhaps we'd see a new theme since the Tiki Isles only had four sets of maps. Even though we were wrong, we're happy to see another set of new digging possibilities to unlock more treasure. Here are the new islands:
Treasure Isle gives us a gift with new backpack
Along with a set of new Mayan Isles maps in tonight's release, Treasure Isle has also rolled out a new Backpack layout. The backpack is often a piece of frustration for Treasure Isle players, not only because of the limited amount of space but also because gems are mixed in with all other gift items. The new Backpack now organizes all of your gems at the top of your Backpack, and they no longer take up precious slots in your backpack. This means that your 250 different items no longer have to include all of the gems you have been collecting. This is a huge improvement.
The only downside to this new Backpack is that it is larger, and the top of it covers up your energy bar. If you're eating fruit to gain energy, you have to keep opening and closing the Backpack to keep an eye on your energy bar. This is only a slight user experience disadvantage, but the good outweighs the bad with this layout.
What do you think of the new Treasure Isle backpack? Is this a good change or a bad change in your opinion?

Live large in Treasure Isle with new adoptable elephant
Recently, Treasure Isle added a new chinchilla adoptable animal. Now tonight, Zynga has added something a bit more, well, substantial to the game. The new elephant works just like all other adoptable animals. Randomly while playing the game, you will experience a popup that asks you to save the elephant. Post it to your wall, and then your friends can click on it to claim the elephant. Unfortunately, you cannot claim an elephant from your own wall post. You will have to scour through your Facebook wall looking for elephants that your friends have saved.
