Poker Blitz: Big on the "Blitz," not so much on the "Poker"

The first thing that strikes you about Zynga's new Poker Blitz is the bright ,clean interface. Compared to the small, dark, almost cigarette-stained boards of Zynga's popular Texas Hold'Em Poker, it's like a trip to Disney World. The second thing that strikes you about the game is its simplicity compared to other poker games. The quick, 60 second tutorial has a minimum of words, just a few big friendly arrows point at the games few easy-to-read buttons.

Mafia Wars Paris challenge mission officially opens

mafia wars paris

If you've been wanting a change of scenery, Mafia Wars Paris challenge missions have officially started, and you've been tasked with stealing the Mona Lisa.

Mafia Wars Paris Chapter 1 is now unlocked, and consists of three jobs: Enter Paris, Track Down Your Fixer and Gather the Materials. These jobs don't work like the average job, however. Each requires you to have a certain number of Paris maps to complete, and you can only do each job a certain number of times before you attract the attention of the Paris authorities. The more aware the police are of your activities, the more the job will cost (in energy and number of maps) to complete. Once your heat meter is completely filled, it takes 8 hours for it to reset again.

Mafia Wars Rogue Agent announced

Mafia Wars Rogue AgentToday we have a new pop up in Mafia Wars. A rogue CIA agent has appeared and is being offered for you to send to your friends.

Now you have to make sure that your Mafia Wars friends all send this to you. Why? Because this agent has some awesome attack stats. As you can see in the image attack is 69 and defense is 30, which isn't too bad either.

You are only allowed to receive 5 rogue agents and if you get sent more they will be converted into energy instead. After you get a rogue agent and want to take a look at it you will find it under your Weapons List, even thought they are saying that it is awesome armor. Go figure?

There are still a few things that I am still not too sure about. The main thing being which of your Mafia members gets the rogue agent if you have more then 50 Mafia members in your family? I have more then 50 and am sure that many of you do as well, but when I clicked the send button, it just said that the rogue agent had been sent to my mafia. Who? I have no idea, so if you are in my Mafia and didn't get it I apologize! The other thing that is unclear is how much energy you will get if you get sent more then 5 agents.

You will also notice that the pop up has a time that shows you how long until the next gift unlocks. So I am assuming that after the timer hits zero, we will be given a new gift to send. Lets hope its as awesome as the rogue agent.

Now get back to the game and send me an agent!!

Mafia Wars: Install toolbar and get 50 free reward points

Install Mafia Wars toolbar for 50 reward poitns
I'm a few days late in bringing this up and most of you will have seen this already, but I need to mention it because it is such a great opportunity. Mafia Wars is offering 50 FREE reward points for just installing the Mafia Wars toolbar. So, if you haven't done this already then do it now!

This is a great deal that you have no reason to miss. In case you were wondering, 50 reward points would cost you about $10 to buy in the Mafia Wars marketplace. Now if someone offered you 10 dollars to do something that will take you one minute to do and is virtually effortless would you refuse? I know I wouldn't, so don't miss this limited time opportunity to get a ton of reward points. And at the end of it all, if you download the toolbar and don't like it, remove it a few days after you get your reward points. That's what I like to call a no lose proposition.

Mafia Wars Death Dealer Minigun: Limited edition gift is big on defense

limited edition weapons

Mafia Wars has rolled out a series of limited edition gifts of late, and the most recent is the Death Dealer mini-gun, which you can send to 50 mafia members with (seriously) one click of a button. We highly recommend taking advantage of these limited edition specials -- especially considering the impressive stats of this big bruiser -- 48 Attack and 64 Defense.

That's the good news; now the bad news. You can only own five of these bad boys, so if after you accept five, every additional Death Dealer you get will be worth 1 energy point. As of this posting, this minigun will be available for 14 more hours so get moving and make sure your mafia's armed and dangerous.

Mafia Wars Bangkok Dark Uprising 'coming soon'

mafia wars bangkok dark uprising coming soonJust when you thought you were done with Mafia Wars Bangkok, the guys behind the scenes lay down another two episodes titled 'Dark Uprising.'

Episodes 6 and 7 will unlock after completing episodes 5a and 5b, and there's not much else to tell other than the fact that this expansion will contain new jobs, new special items and that you'll have to 'fight to re-establish your hold as a major Yakuza and Triad boss.' Not sure if that means you'll have to start over from zero to gain favor with the Yakuza and Triads -- or something else. There's also the promise that you'll cross paths with 'shadowy forces,' (see pic below: don't those guys look 'shadowy' in their black hoods?) whatever that may entail.

Mafia Wars plans Central Mainframe Access Code system overhaul

mafia wars secret code
Just when we were starting to commit our Central Mainframe Access Code to memory, Mafia Wars says it's going to give this new bonus system an overhaul. That means there's good news and bad news. First, the good news -- codes can be accessed in game, and will no longer need to be written down. Then, the bad news: Right now you can redeem this code for a reward daily, but post-overhaul, rewards will be doled out weekly instead. Boo.

If you're one of the few who lost your code this week, this Mafia Wars forum post says not to contact support -- "They cannot assist Users with retrieving them at this point in time." Guess you'll have to sit tight until this Central Mainframe access is retooled later this week.

Mafia Wars Las Vegas: Dev hints at new upgradeable Casino

A Mafia Wars developer named "Teebs" dropped a big hint about what's in store for the Las Vegas expansion -- namely Las Vegas properties (the new content is rumored to roll out mid-June). Instead of owning multiple businesses and buildings a la Mafia Wars New York, Cuba, etc, Mafia Wars Las Vegas will let players own a single casino, which can be customized and upgraded.

"The second is something I've alluded to in a previous post – the Vegas Casino property. Instead of having multiple buildings and businesses that you see currently, the Vegas property system will actually have you customizing (both visually and numerically) a single complex, so you can be your own Casino mogul. You'll be able to choose your slot machines, upgrade your Hotel, as make sure your Vault is secure from robbery."
Having spent a lot time on the Las Vegas strip, we'll all for the idea. We just hope we end up with something more like the Bellagio than the Stardust.

Mafia Wars Paris Reward: The Parisian Fixer

Mafia Wars cheat, FarmVille cheat, cafe cash money, , FishVille cheat, yoville, , Things to do on Petville, TreasureIsle cheat, money, hack, videos The first reward you will get from the Mafia Wars Paris chapters is the Parisian Fixer. He will be given to you at the end of Paris, Chapter 1, Procure De France.
Mafia Wars Paris Job Mastered
The final job that you have to do is the "Gather The Materials" job, which also completes Chapter 1 and opens up Chapter 2.

The stats for the Parisian Fixer is 30 offense and 61 defense. The defensive number is quite good so I guess it was worth waiting for more maps and dodging the cops to get. Let's hope the Chapter 2 reward is as good or better. Mafia Wars Paris has been worth the wait so far and is a good addition to the other areas of the game.

Mafia Wars Paris has ended: Did you complete your mission?

mafia wars challenge mission paris

As of today, May 18, Mafia Wars Paris has come to an end, and for many -- the end came too soon. The special Challenge mission started on April 26 and ran for about three weeks. Paris was particularly challenging because it required Parisian maps to complete, which were not exactly easy to come by. Reward for finishing Paris included three rare items: The Fixer, French Kiss and DaVinci Q415, each with pretty decent stats.

So the question remains: Did you successfully steal the Mona Lisa? Or did time run out before you could do the deed?

Mafia Wars Cheats & Tips: InfinityMW toolbar for Chrome

infinity clan mafia wars toolbar for chrome
Today's topic is tool bars, specifically the Infinity Clan's brand new Mafia Wars toolbar that works with Google's Chrome browser. Much like the official Mafia Wars toolbar, this unofficial toolbar offers an easy way to keep an eye on your mafia's activities directly from your browser -- and then some.

Mafia wars Gifts: Everything you need to know

7-Eleven Zynga ubergifts

The anticipated 7-Eleven and Zynga promotion launched ahead of schedule, and is full of surprises, including a trio of special Uber Gifts that you can earn by redeeming multiple codes from FarmVille, Mafia Wars and YoVille-themed snacks purchased from 7-Eleven in addition to performing special tasks in-game.

The three Uber gifts are the following: 200 FarmVille Cash, 50 Skill Points in Mafia Wars and a Slurpee Machine for your YoVille pad. We're all for getting that 200 FarmVille Cash (worth roughly $30), the other two we can live without.

Treasure Isle finds homes for abandoned animals

treasure isle dolphins treasure isle panthers treasure isle sloth
As Treasure Isle continues to grow in popularity, Zynga are implementing all our favorite Facebook game features into the new title. Some time after the release of the game, lost animals started showing up around the archipelago of Treasure Isle. The treasure isle margayfeature works similarly to the lost animals of FarmVille and the lost toys of PetVille.

In addition to lonely seals, new adoptable animals have begun appearing around the islands. Sloths, margays, dolphins, and panthers are among the animals looking for new homes. In case you were curious, the image to the right is a photograph of myself, posing with my margay, Montgomery.

While searching for treasure or simply just hanging out in Treasure Isle, you may come across one of these animals. Make sure to post it on your wall so that someone can give the animal a home. You can't adopt an animal you find yourself, so the only way to get these is by staying vigilant on Facebook, looking for animals found by your friends.

Treasure Isle Mystery Chest: Locksmith promises to email, then doesn't

Treasure Isle Mystery Chest email -- not!

Raise your hand if you've run into this problem. You've been digging like a fiend in Treasure Isle and run across a Mystery Chest. Unlike the other chests you unearth, this chest can only be opened by a locksmith, who promises he'll send an email when its done...

Not sure what your experience has been, but we've never received that email from said locksmith. Is this kind of like when a guy promises to call and then doesn't? Or when someone 'borrows' your cell phone to make a call and then runs away with it instead? We even blew the dust off our spam folder to see if the messages were lost in there, but nothing.

Geez, getting stood up a virtual locksmith is almost as bad as getting stood up by the real-life cable guy. Harumph.

Treasure Isle: New Mayan Isles III maps are released

Zynga have been teasing us for the last week about the new Mayan Isles maps in Treasure Isle, and finally they have come through with their promise. Tonight, the Mayan Isles III maps were released, promising 7 new undiscovered islands to dig for treasure and discover collections. These maps are only available if you have completed all of the previous Mayan Isles maps, so you may not have them unlocked as of yet.

The new maps are:

Enchanted Land - Requires 10,000 coins
Eagle Claw
Stony Path - Requires 15 Island Cash
Isle of Time - Requires 8 Island Cash
Mystic Lake
Great Rune
Hidden Waters - Requires 5,000 coins

Many will be upset that two of these new maps are not unlockable without paying Island Cash, but it should be noted that the two largest islands are available for coins. The question is - were you able to finish the Mayan Isles II with all of those bugs you had to spray? Many Treasure Isle players are complaining that the required amount of coins is over 100,000 to complete the previous Mayan Isles maps because of all of the bugs to remove. For those who did complete them, the new maps will surely be a welcome addition to Treasure Isle.

Treasure Isle Mystery Gift: Find out what's inside

Not long ago, Treasure Isle introduced a Mystery Gift that can be sent to friends for free. That's nice and all, but we wanted to know what's inside to see whether its worth sending these to our fellow adventurers.

Here's a looong list of what might be lurking inside, from the common Jacaranda tree to the more valuable Bag of Gems. Unfortunately, the exorbitantly priced Bug Spray is not included in this lineup ... for now, at least.

1 Island Cash
1,000 coins

Treasure Isle: New Mayan IV Maps

Treasure Isle has released the next set of Mayan maps, so those of you who have been impatiently waiting for their arrival can now be pleasantly pleased. This could very well be the final map of the Mayan themes, given that there were four of the Tiki Isles.

The new maps are as follows: Three Pools, Five Challenges, Winding Way, Silent Forest, Branched Path, Tree of Life, and Buggy Bog. Like the last set of Mayan themed maps, there are two that require Island Cash, and there is one that requires 2500 coins to unlock.

We're not looking forward to a map named "Buggy Bog" based on how expensive Bug Spray is to eradicate the pests. Other than that, these maps look large and challenging.

Have you started the Mayan IV maps yet? How difficult are they?

Treasure Isle fragments allow you to replay maps

Treasure Isle has just rolled out a feature that is sure to be a smashing hit for hardcore players. You can now purchase Fragments that will allow you to replay maps that you have already completed. This is almost certainly in response to the demand for more maps and the inability for Zynga to keep up with the content production to satiate the hungry appetites of the diehard Treasure Isle Fans.

Fragments are available in two packages. Currently you can buy 10 Fragments for 5 Island Cash, or 40 Fragments for 18 Island Cash. You can also get fragments from your friends, as they can be given as gifts.

Unfortunately, each map takes many fragments in order to go back and complete it again. The smallest islands are replayable for 5 Fragments, but some islands require at least 25. That is a lot of begging for fragments from your friends, or a lot of Island Cash spent. Players seem to have mixed feelings on this so far. Some players are happy because they can go back and try to obtain items they never got (such as the elusive Rain God) and earn XP and coins again. Others think this is a lazy design move by Zynga and a way to avoid having to put out new content.

We're sure Zynga will be watching the success of this feature to determine if it does as well as releasing new content. We think it's a great way to add longevity to the game without creating too huge of an uphill battle for new players.

We want to know what you think of the new fragments in Treasure. Please comment and tell us if you think this was a lazy move, or a welcome feature.
